Let’s fold this origami ghost, designed by Hiroaki Kobayashi. It has a wide grin, two small arms, and a body that tapers to a pointed tail. The expression is what makes it: jovial, a little cheeky, and not frightening in the least. Good for Halloween if you want the season without the scare. It’s a fun fold with a really pleasant sequence. Each crease sets up the next one, and the face only arrives near the end, all at once. I’ve filed it as low-intermediate for one move, the spread sink in Step 8. It’s much easier to watch than to read, so play that step’s video before you commit the crease. The diagrams also include an alternative mouth at the end of the tutorial, so you can pick the expression you prefer before you start shaping.
